Paramus High School Day of Service/Student Choice Day - May 16
As many of the students directly impacted by the tragic bus accident seven years ago prepare to graduate from high school in June, they have expressed a desire to commemorate and honor those affected. To fulfill this meaningful wish, Friday, May 16, 2025, will be designated as a Day of Service and Student Choice at Paramus High School (PHS).
We invite teachers, students, and the broader Paramus community to participate and encourage proposals for activities, workshops, and lessons that foster a sense of joy, reflection, and community. These may include:
- Creative Expression: Art projects, music performances, poetry readings.
- Wellness Activities: Yoga, meditation, mindfulness exercises.
- Community Engagement: Volunteer opportunities, service projects.
- Unique Learning Experiences: Proposed lessons already include “Indie Music in the 1990s,” “Wrestling with Geopolitics - A History of How Professional Wrestling Reflected and Informed Global Politics,” and other engaging, thought-provoking sessions.
PHS welcomes participation from local businesses, community organizations, and individuals who may offer guest speaker presentations, demonstrations, or other enriching experiences that support student well-being. Please share this opportunity with the Paramus community and complete the online survey if you are interested in participating.
For more information, contact PHS principal, Mr. Dom Miller, via email or supervisor of social studies and world languages, Mr. David Allocco, via email.
